Funerals

The passing of a loved one is always difficult and often traumatic. At Redcliffe Anglican
Parish, you will receive the pastoral support that you and your family will need at such a
time. Working with you and the funeral directors, we will assist you in the planning of the
funeral service that is tailored to reflect the life of your loved one.

Christian Burial remains one of the most important aspects of our human experience. We all
feel the pangs of death and loss and the funeral rite is an important part of our grieving
process. We proclaim the Resurrection of Jesus and look for the eternal glory of life
promised to us by Our Lord. We look to the power of the Easter message and offer the
confidence of God's love and promises.

There are many things to consider when losing a loved one. For many people, thinking
through important details is difficult and emotional. You can trust us to assist you in the
choosing of music, readings, memorabilia, presentations and anything else that will mark
the occasion appropriately.

It is quite common these days for the whole funeral service to be conducted at either of our
churches with either a private cremation or burial afterwards which clergy can attend if that
is required. However, the clergy at will conduct funerals at any of the funeral chapels,
crematoriums or cemeteries by arrangement. We work with all the local funeral directors
and others from further afield, and will do our best to accommodate all requests.

As with all the ministries offered, our mission is to assure all the love and peace of God
which passes all understanding. If you have any doubts as to whether a Christian funeral
would be appropriate or even allowed (it is!) please contact Rev’d Danni to talk through
your concerns. Where possible, we endeavour to follow up all funerals with appropriate
care and support. Our aim is to provide genuine care of all who are in need and offer a
beautiful place to conduct a funeral that will reflect the love and honour to all who are
affected by a sensitive and difficult loss.
