Meditation Group
The meditation group meets on Monday mornings at St Mary’s church at 9.30am for about an
hour from the beginning of February through to the last week in November. Our first meeting
for 2025 will be February 3rd
Sharing our own insights and ideas after listening to short talks (each talk lasts 5 – 15 minutes)
has been very interesting. This is followed by a twenty-minute period of silent meditation and
finally we finish with a prayer. This year we have been able to meet for most of the year, it was
very enjoyable to share these few times together.
The talks are sent to us from the WCCM; one every three months, for which we are very
thankful. We each make (the equivalent of) a gold coin donation once a month which we send
to our local Queensland branch of WCCM to assist them in their work. There are various
Meditation days and retreats which can be attended. Also zoom meditations for those who
prefer this
There are information brochures at the back of both our churches for anyone who would like to
try Christian meditation for the first time. All are very welcome.
I thank Rev’d Danni for her encouragement in this ministry.
“The all-important aim in Christian Meditation is to allow God’s mysterious presence within us
to become more and more not only a reality, but the reality which gives meaning, shape and
purpose to everything we are…..” Dom John Main OSB.
“In a deep, creative silence, we meet God in a way which transcends all our powers of intellect
and language…..” Dom John Main OSB
